Marketing Summit & STAR Awards Celebration

IMEA members gathered at the annual Marketing Summit and STAR Awards Celebration at Calamos Investments in Chicago. The Marketing Summit featured presentations and discussions on top-of-mind issues including:

    • AI’s Role in Investment Management Marketing – Panelists from Wentworth Communications, Cohen & Steers and TIAA discussed how ChatGPT and other forms of generative artificial intelligence (AI) are improving and disrupting how asset managers create, personalize and distribute marketing content.
    • The Art of a Successful Brand Refresh – This session brought together a panel of marketing and branding experts from Thornburg Investment Management and Carpenter Group who recently embarked upon an in-depth brand evaluation and refresh of a 40-year-old active investment firm. The process required a delicate balance between preserving brand essence and embracing the need for change and advancement. The panel discussed their experiences from conception to implementation and provided tangible insights to firms and marketers considering their own brand refresh.
    • Elevating Education – Industry professionals from T. Rowe Price discussed the complexity of our industry and the growing demand for education across the value chain.
    • Digital First Engagement…How’s it Going? – Attendees heard from two different firms, Columbia Threadneedle Investments and Nuveen, on the challenges, philosophies, successes and failures related to the digital first approach in marketing and sales throughout the industry.
